About The Position

The Program Director oversees all aspects of program operations, including curriculum development, student recruitment and advising, clinical coordination, program assessment, and accreditation compliance. The position also includes teaching responsibilities within the Nuclear Medicine Program. Additional responsibilities include supporting student success initiatives, engaging with community and clinical partners, assisting with marketing and recruitment efforts, and ensuring the program meets (JRCNMT) regulatory and professional standards. Other duties may be assigned as needed to support program and division goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum master’s degree from an accredited academic institution
  • Active certification and registration in nuclear medicine technology
  • Four years’ post-certification experience in nuclear medicine
  • Two years’ experience teaching
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all audiences in verbal and written form.
  • Ability to represent the College and division professionally with internal and external constituents to further the purpose, values and mission of the College.
  • Knowledge of professional development theory as applied in a community college setting.
  • Ability to think strategically, to work collaboratively and to make decisions, both collaboratively and independently.
  • Ability to use data to inform decision-making and planning.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and to lead in an environment of change.
  • Desire and ability to focus on continuous improvement and help lead the N&AH Division through a cycle of plan, do, check and adjust (PDCA).

Responsibilities

  • Foster a respectful and supportive culture for all students, faculty, and clinical partners.

  • Ensure equitable access to resources, support services, and learning opportunities that enhance student success, retention, and completion across all student populations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to support a culture of collaboration, responsiveness to workforce needs, and continuous program improvement.
  • Collects, manages, and archives documents to support regional, state and national accreditation compliance for Nuclear Medicine Program.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor the program budget to ensure efficient allocation of resources, alignment with institutional priorities, and long-term program sustainability.
  • Identify and implement innovative strategies in curriculum delivery, instructional technology, and clinical partnerships to enhance program quality and respond to evolving healthcare workforce needs.
  • Seek opportunities for grants, industry collaboration, and shared resources to expand program capacity, support student success, and strengthen the program’s financial and operational viability.
  • Promote, support and participate in on-going student recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Process Change of Grade, Graduation Substitution and other academic forms.
  • Routinely interact with Academic Advisors to facilitate successful academic experiences for potential Nuclear Medicine students.
  • Develop and oversee initiatives that address academic, personal, and professional needs, including early intervention, mentoring, and individualized advising to promote retention and completion.
  • Ensure students are aware of and actively connected to support services such as tutoring, counseling, financial assistance, and career services to remove barriers to success.
  • Foster a supportive environment that emphasizes resilience, work-life balance, and professional development, preparing students for both certification and successful entry into the workforce.
  • In collaboration with Dean, work to identify new opportunities for program expansion.
  • Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of curriculum to ensure evidence-based teaching practices, alignment with accreditation standards, and strong student performance outcomes.
  • Promote the use of simulation, hybrid learning models, and emerging instructional technologies to enhance student engagement, clinical readiness, and adaptability to evolving healthcare environments.
  • Regularly assess program effectiveness through data, student feedback, and industry trends, and implement targeted improvements to strengthen instructional quality and program relevance.
