About The Position

The Program Director for Jewish Education Collaborative Initiatives will advance the work of “ST Next,” a short-term (1-2 year) project at the Mandel Center for Studies in Jewish Education at Brandeis University (MCSJE). This role will integrate day school collaboration and shared-resource stewardship, i.e., the work of Stronger Together, with MCSJE-based field-building work in the Boston Jewish educational community. By combining these functions into a single role at Brandeis, the MCSJE will serve as an institutional home for work that strengthens coordination, professional community, and collective impact across Jewish educational organizations and schools in Greater Boston.

Requirements

  • BS/BA required; advanced degree highly preferred
  • 5-8 years of relevant work experience required.
  • Requires experience supervising administrative and/or program teams.
  • Deep knowledge of local Boston Jewish day school community; experience with all aspects of program planning; experience with administrative and logistical planning

Responsibilities

  • Support and collaborate on currently envisioned MCSJE-based activities with local educators (within and beyond Jewish day schools), and expanding those activities as appropriate (possibly including participating in the planning, recruitment for and implementation of a national conference of NRJE in Boston in June 2027 with a special effort to design opportunities for local Jewish educators) - 40%
  • Continue with selected activities of Stronger Together in 2022-2026, maintaining valuable momentum in those collaborative initiatives among local Jewish day schools that have proven successful—including leadership convening, shared resource initiatives, the AI Teaching Fellowship, and other activities - 25%
  • Support the design and implementation of a planning process for a collaborative structure among local Jewish day schools, building on Stronger Together and ST Next, with the intention of launching in 2 years -25%
  • Design and implement a process to develop a strategy for Jewish educational collaboration in Greater Boston, i.e., a proposal for a set of achievable collaborative initiatives to strengthen Jewish education across sectors, with the intention of delivering a proposal at the end of the project - 10%
