This role involves strategic planning, goal setting, and developing procedures to enhance program effectiveness. The Program Director will provide direct supervision, training, support, review, and evaluation for Child Welfare Supervisors and other assigned staff. This position is also responsible for developing, implementing, and managing program budgets, evaluating program effectiveness, and collaborating with other management staff on programmatic, fiscal, organizational, and community issues. Maintaining staffing requirements and assigning responsibilities for program staff activities are key functions. The role requires demonstrating professional, positive behavior and carrying out responsibilities with integrity, treating all individuals with dignity, respect, honesty, and fairness.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work or related DCFS/COA acceptable degree required.
  • Background check clearance, both criminal and CANTS required.
  • State licensing/certification as required by the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a managerial/supervisory role and experience with Child Welfare required.
  • Demonstrated ability to display positive organizational and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Computer proficiency as needed by the program and willingness to increase skills as required.
  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury, and property damage required.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in strategic planning and goal setting for the programs and develop procedures and systems that enhance the effectiveness of the programs.
  • Provide direct supervision, training, support, review, and evaluation for Child Welfare Supervisors and other assigned staff.
  • Develop, implement, and is accountable for the program budgets along with evaluation of program effectiveness as it relates to const and objectives.
  • Collaborate with other management staff in programs and network on programmatic, fiscal, organizational and community issues.
  • Maintain staffing requirements and assign responsibilities for coordination and organization of the program staff activities.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individuals in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner.
