About The Position

The Program Director of HVAC-R is an important member of the College’s instructional team and is responsible for teaching the course objectives for the HVAC-R program. This includes curriculum implementation, maintaining a schedule of classes, and fostering a culture of professionalism, innovation, and excellence. The role continuously monitors and improves instructional quality and student outcomes, ensuring alignment with the college's mission and enhancing its reputation and impact. Additionally, the Program Director is responsible for budgets, schedules, advisory committees, recruitment, retention, and general program management as outlined in the Galveston College Program Director job description.

Requirements

Hold at least an associate’s degree in HVAC-R or a closely-related field
A minimum of five years relevant, industry-specific workforce experience
Strong communication skills (written and oral)
Interpersonal skills
Organization and time management skills
Strong computer skills
Hold the Universal EPA certification
The aptitude to ‘think outside the box’
Ability to work collaboratively with others

Nice To Haves

Experience in higher education specifically a community college setting is preferred
