About The Position

The Program Director for the Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program provides visionary and strategic leadership to implement the new graduate program focused on developing outstanding clinicians who are committed to community engagement and rural health access. The Director oversees all aspects of program administration, including curriculum development, applying for accreditation and maintaining compliance, and budget management. This role ensures the program’s alignment with the mission of UWSP and the standards of the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language-Pathology (CAA), fostering an inclusive learning environment that prepares graduates for evidence-based, person-centered practice. The Program Director represents the program within the university and professional community and promotes innovation in teaching, scholarship, and clinical partnerships. The Board of Regents authorized UW-Stevens Point to implement an independent Au.D. in Audiology graduate program. The audiology program is part of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) in the School of Health Sciences and Wellness (SHSW). The SHSW offers 7 undergraduate majors, 7 graduate degree programs, and several certificate programs.

Requirements

  • Audiologist with an active unencumbered license in Wisconsin or license eligible in the state of Wisconsin (must be licensed in WI within 6 months of hire).
  • Earned clinical or academic doctoral degree with a major emphasis in audiology or hearing science.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A)
  • Familiarity with CAA accreditation requirements and/or experience with other accreditation and regulatory agencies.
  • Effective leadership and management skills, with the ability to foster a collaborative, innovative, and energetic team.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness as an educator in an entry-level audiology accredited Au.D. program.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Prior leadership experience in an entry-level audiology program; committee leadership within an accredited program may demonstrate this expectation.
