About The Position

The Clinical Performance Strategy & Measurement Team shapes how Humana defines, measures, and improves clinical performance across the enterprise. By identifying high-impact opportunities to improve healthcare quality, affordability, provider performance, and member outcomes, the team informs enterprise strategy and drives meaningful change across the healthcare ecosystem. At its core, the team's mission is to ensure Humana measures what matters, enabling targeted actions that help members receive higher-value care, achieve better health outcomes, and support a more affordable healthcare experience. The Program Delivery Lead translates enterprise clinical performance strategies into scalable operational capabilities that improve healthcare quality, affordability, provider performance, and member outcomes. As part of the Clinical Performance Strategy & Measurement Team, this role leads the implementation, adoption, and integration of high-impact initiatives, performance frameworks, and quality measures across the enterprise, ensuring strategic priorities deliver measurable and sustainable clinical and business value. Operating within a strategy-to-execution model, the Implementation Lead focuses on how approved strategies are operationalized, adopted, and sustained. Partnering closely with clinical, analytics, operations, network, market, provider, finance, technology, and business stakeholders, the role translates strategic recommendations into implementation roadmaps, governance structures, scalable processes, and measurable business outcomes. This position plays a key role in advancing Humana's long-term clinical performance strategy by ensuring initiatives are effectively implemented, embedded into operational workflows, and continuously optimized to deliver lasting enterprise value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years of experience in healthcare operations, clinical operations, program implementation, healthcare consulting, provider performance, value-based care, quality improvement, or implementation
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives and driving execution across multiple stakeholders
  • Experience developing and executing implementation plans, operational processes, or large-scale organizational initiatives
  • Experience translating strategic recommendations into operational workflows and sustainable business processes
  • Strong project management, organizational, and execution skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Experience monitoring performance metrics and using data to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization
  • Strong executive communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to proactively identify risks, solve problems, and drive initiatives forward in ambiguous environments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, facilitate adoption, and achieve measurable outcomes
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (Master's or Doctorate) in Business (MBA), Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Organizational Leadership, Clinical Informatics, or a related field
  • Clinical degree or licensure (e.g., MD, DO, PharmD, APRN, NP, PA, RN, BSN)
  • Experience implementing provider performance, quality improvement, population health, value-based care, or clinical transformation programs
  • Experience developing governance models, operating procedures, and scalable implementation frameworks
  • Knowledge of healthcare claims data, clinical coding systems and taxonomies (e.g., ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), quality measurement methodologies, performance analytics, and their application to performance measurement and improvement initiatives
  • Experience working with Medicare Advantage populations

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and operationalization of enterprise clinical performance, quality improvement, and provider performance initiatives.
  • Translate strategic recommendations into actionable implementation plans, operating models, and execution frameworks.
  • Develop implementation roadmaps, milestones, success metrics, governance structures, and accountability plans.
  • Ensure initiatives are successfully integrated into business processes and operational workflows.
  • Assess operational readiness and identify workflow, reporting, communication, training, and change management needs to support successful implementation.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align priorities, clarify roles, and drive successful execution.
  • Develop and execute stakeholder engagement, communication, and change management strategies that support adoption and sustainment.
  • Identify and address barriers to implementation and operational success.
  • Foster alignment and collaboration across clinical, operational, analytics, network, and business teams.
  • Establish approaches for measuring adoption, effectiveness, and operational impact.
  • Monitor program performance and identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Support reporting, tracking, and communication of outcomes to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Partner with business owners to establish sustainment approaches that support long-term adoption, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain governance processes that support sustainable implementation and accountability.
  • Drive execution standards, implementation best practices, and process improvements.
  • Identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support the development of scalable and repeatable implementation methodologies.
  • Build strong partnerships across clinical, operational, analytics, network, and business teams.
  • Serve as a trusted partner in translating enterprise priorities into operational results.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Present implementation plans, progress updates, recommendations, and outcomes to leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve implementation effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Promote best practices that enhance scalability, adoption, and sustainability of enterprise initiatives.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging approaches related to healthcare operations, implementation, and performance improvement.
  • Support the evolution of enterprise capabilities that drive long-term organizational value.
