Under the general supervision of program director or designee, the program coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administration and supervision of the assigned programs, oversight of assigned staff and ensuring quality service delivery and compliance of programs’ contractual guidelines. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, human services or related field
  • Five years’ direct experience in the field of human services.
  • Relevant experience working with individuals and families being served through the child welfare and/or juvenile justice system.
  • Must be knowledgeable of group facilitation/mediation practices and principles
  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smartphones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
  • Bilingual skills (English and Spanish) highly preferred.
  • A valid social work license is preferred, but not required.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license, minimum car insurance requirement 100,000/300,000 bodily injury.
  • Travel within the communities served is required
  • Willing to work non-traditional work hours (weekend and evening hours), as well as on-call responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Provide administration and coordination for designated program contracts, ensuring high quality delivery of services and compliance with NYAP and funder guidelines.
  • Provide coordination for regional services, individual, family and group services, and individual supervision of all staff as assigned.
  • Reviews and signs off on all paperwork generated by the Family Advocates and other program staff allocated to the programs under the Coordinator’s supervision.
  • Provide training, guidance and support to team members in the program and services implementation
  • Support assigned staff in coordinating services for families and youth, including mental health, medical, educational, psychological, vocational and social services.
  • Assign staff to programmatic responsibilities and regularly review the progress and status of program outcomes and services provided to families and individuals
  • Coordinate all intake services for assigned programs, including compliance with intake, assessments and all documentation as required by each program.
  • Conduct intakes and assessments for assigned programs as needed
  • Coordinate anger management and parenting classes for adult participants.
  • Facilitate/teach anger management and parenting classes following NYAP approved curricula
  • Maintain productivity standards on a monthly basis.
  • Make public appearances and presentations as requested.
  • Attend community meetings to promote agency programs and to obtain information regarding community resources
  • Initiate and coordinate local provider coalition in Dekalb County.
  • Work in collaboration with supervisor to develop new programming and sources of revenue.
  • Assist with resource development activities.
  • Collaborate with other NYAP programs and staff throughout the organization.
  • Complete required reports and submit the reports for processing according to agency policy.
  • Provide weekly reports to assigned supervisor.
  • Participate in individual supervision weekly and provides regularly scheduled supervision for assigned staff.
  • Organize and conduct monthly staff meetings.
  • Responsible for CQI activities, ensuring programs meet and maintain national accreditation standards
  • Participate in training necessary to carry out program activities and maintain compliance with contractual agreements
  • Perform all duties in accordance with personnel policies and the program’s fiscal guidelines.
