About The Position

The Program Coordinator provides overall program support and assistance to the Facility Manager, Senior Program Manager, Director of Youth Residential, Case Management staff, and program operations. The Program Coordinator will coordinate and provide administrative support, case management, and shift coverage for the overall operation and function of Restorative Pathways youth programs, including Phoenix Rising and Lena’s House. Populations served include survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, and other violent crimes. The Program Coordinator will receive STRTP Group Home Administrator training and they are expected to take the exam to become certified administrator.

Requirements

  • Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services or related field
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Someone with a minimum of two years of experience working in social services or a similar field
  • Experienced in crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, case management, and client advocacy
  • Someone who exhibits integrity and good moral character to provide appropriate care to youth
  • Someone with relevant experience and/or qualifications to work with youth and youth with special needs
  • Able to show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route if working directly with clients, including Varicella, MMR, TDap or Tdap, and Influenza
  • Experienced with previous work in a domestic violence and/or homeless setting providing direct services to youth (experience may substitute for education requirement)
  • Someone who has not engaged in any form of child abuse or neglect or related offenses
  • Experienced in working with survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence
  • Experienced working with immigrant communities
  • Knowledgeable in trauma-informed care and culturally responsive practices
  • Holding or willing to obtain the State-mandated 40-hour Domestic Violence Counselor certification
  • Able to lift 25 lbs
  • Able to complete background check, fingerprinting (Live Scan), and all Community Care Licensing requirements, including STRTP Group Home Administration Training
  • In possession of a valid CA driver's license, proof of insurance, and be approved by RP insurance as a driver in order to drive agency vehicles. If a staff member cannot be approved by RP insurance as a driver, employment might not be able to continue. Instances where staff cannot be approved to drive will be reviewed on a case by case basis to determine if employment can continue in their role without driving agency vehicles. Items considered include but are not limited to: the shift the staff member holds and the frequency/necessity of driving during that shift, the amount of time before the staff member may be approved to drive by the insurance carrier, the availability of other staff on site to drive agency vehicles as program needs require, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision to weekend youth advocates and on-call advocates
  • Require participation in a monthly on-call rotation
  • Conduct weekly staff supervision
  • Become familiar with CARF Accreditation Youth Group Home Standards
  • Become familiar with Mental Health Certification requirements
  • Become familiar with Medi-cal Billing for services and requirements
  • Conduct general inspection of facility and log maintenance needs
  • Perform telephone screening and intake for potential clients
  • Support daily program operations and administrative needs
  • Participate in case management meetings, conferences, and debriefs
  • Provide case management coverage as needed (including after hours, weekends, holidays)
  • Supervise and support youth
  • Monitor academics, attendance, and school performance
  • Submit requests for groceries, household items, and clothing
  • Implement daily and monthly schedules (study time, room inspections, etc.)
  • Create and oversee weekly menus with youth input
  • Track dietary, religious, and cultural needs
  • Apply the Reasonable and Prudent Parent Standard
  • Communicate updates to staff
  • Provide crisis intervention
  • Ensure documentation collection and compliance
  • Plan and coordinate activities and outings
  • Track resident belongings inventory
  • Contribute to progress notes
  • Assist with data entry and clerical tasks
  • Provide staff training and trauma-informed services
  • Maintain monthly activities calendar
  • Coordinate religious services
  • Orient new residents
  • Support general shelter operations
  • Complete functional timesheets by assigned due dates in compliance with time allocations.
  • Actively participate in reflective supervision sessions.
  • Create and maintain documentation of processes and procedures related to job duties.
