About The Position

Plans and organizes all program events, such as professional development meetings, career field trips, speaker events, large event gatherings, and community-building outings, working with Faculty Leadership to execute program events. Managing the program’s daily operations includes maintaining regular communication with the program participants (students). Collaborates with the program’s evaluator to collect program data and assists in producing the Annual Report. The Program Coordinator maintains detailed records of expenditures for budget management and works with vendors to purchase supplies for the program. Maintains solid working relationships with internal and external program partners for professional development, event planning, and other program activities, and supervise the graduate assistant(s) and serve as instructor for the program’s Blackboard course. Maintains an effective and professional level of communications with faculty, staff, and students with respect to the university’s policies and procedures and exhibits a positive attitude during times of change. They must be able to handle multiple priorities, adapt to changing priorities, and be a team player in issues involving daily operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of work experience.
  • Background program coordination, basic knowledge of STEM content, and basic computer knowledge required.
  • Able to plan, organize, prioritize and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions.
  • Able to manage change, deal with new circumstances, and work both independently and as part of the team.
  • Able to maintain schedules and meet deadlines.
  • Able to communicate (written and verbally) information effectively with internal and external stakeholders, develop standard operating procedures.
  • Technological competence, and the ability to communicate with technical staff to manage program infrastructure.
