About The Position

The Program Coordinator, department of Global Health/School of Health-Georgetown University provides management support of all aspects of the global Health Department. The Program Coordinator is the focal point for communications among the faculty, students, school administration, advisory committees and alumni, and therefore has the broadest knowledge of all aspects of the programs and operations of the department. PC also process department financial transactions to cover faculty and student travel, purchases, and reimbursements. With excellent administration, accounting, organization, and communication skills, the coordinator provides the base for successful academic and research operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum academic level required to perform the work in this position is a B.A., in Education, global Health, Public Health, Accounting, Communication, Behavioral or Health Sciences, Political Science, International Relations
  • 2-4 years working in global health, communication, educational program development experience relevant.
  • Must be comfortable with computers and school computer systems, knowledgeable about common social media platforms, able to manage spreadsheets and databases
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to work cooperatively and effectively with community groups and foundations, taking meeting notes, write meeting summaries, organize/coordinate school related events, manage resources, strong administrative and time management skills, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Chair and SOH senior leadership to ensure that the global Health programs are advanced aggressively within the SOH budget process.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of program budgets, purchasing, reimbursement, sponsored research budgets and other initiatives.
  • Work closely with SOH Finance Office to monitor monthly financial reports and provide data for forecasting of revenue and expense.
  • Ensure high levels of student satisfaction through daily interaction and written and verbal feedback.
  • Work with faculty and students to create logical systems and efficient processes to maximize efficiency and student satisfaction.
  • Create methods of data collection and analysis on student surveys to ensure quality improvement.
  • Develop and maintain strong ties to alumni and ensure participation in school activities and functions.
  • Ensure that alumni are aware of advances in the Georgetown program and are active participants in our growth.
  • Organize routine and special department events, facilitate event logistics, support guest speakers and other guests.
  • Lead efforts to improve curriculum and daily teaching efficiency in the programs.
  • Enhance the use of technology in the classroom.
  • Work closely with faculty to develop, organize and implement departmental activities.
  • Assist with internship and study abroad administrative duties for graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Global Health Department Chair.
