About The Position

The Youngstown Innovation Hub for Aerospace and Defense, based in Youngstown, Ohio, is a national center for advanced and additive manufacturing. It aims to accelerate the transition of ideas from concept to market, bringing together advanced facilities, talent, and partnerships to transform American manufacturing. The Hub's mission includes strengthening U.S. aerospace and defense supply chains, advancing workforce development, and pioneering innovative manufacturing solutions. Managed by the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM) in collaboration with America Makes, the Hub acts as a catalyst for national security, global competitiveness, and economic growth. As the Program Coordinator, you will be a key member of the Innovation Hub and NCDMM team, serving as the primary point of contact for inquiries, stakeholder engagement, and ecosystem support. This role involves ecosystem development, customer intake and tracking, relationship management, and operational support for Hub programs. You will manage inquiry flow, support project and partnership development, coordinate data and reporting, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and contribute to the Hub's mission. This position is crucial for ensuring a seamless and strategically aligned experience for partners and businesses. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, highly communicative, and passionate about advanced manufacturing, customer service, and ecosystem building, thriving in a fast-paced, innovative, and sometimes ambiguous environment.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in business, economic development, public administration, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, membership management roles, economic development, technical program coordination, or similar work
  • Demonstrated ability to engage diverse partners, identify needs, and support collaborative solutions
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation
  • High emotional intelligence, professionalism, and discretion
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort with CRM systems
  • Ability to build relationships and connect people
  • Self-directed and accountable, able to prioritize and drive results with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and turn strategy into action
  • Passion for serving the nation and improving U.S. manufacturing competitiveness
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and pass E-Verify

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute stakeholder engagement activities
  • Manage time effectively to ensure engagement and reporting tasks flow smoothly
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries from companies, government, universities, and other stakeholders
  • Manage intake, triage, and tracking systems for timely follow-up and clear communication
  • Engage regional partners to identify collaboration opportunities and strengthen the ecosystem
  • Represent the Hub at regional events and coordinate operational needs for meetings, visits, and activities
  • Partner with the Communications team on awareness initiatives and stakeholder-aligned messaging
  • Maintain comprehensive tracking of inquiries, engagements, pilot projects, and site visits, identifying key data sources and trends
  • Produce dashboards and reports that surface patterns, insights, and ecosystem metrics for leadership and stakeholders
  • Travel (<30% travel is expected)
