Duke Health Integrated Practice Duke Health Integrated Practice comprises more than 110 primary and specialty outpatient clinics, extending the reach of the Duke Health mission across the state of North Carolina. We are seeking a Program Coordinator in our Duke Children’s and Internal Medicine North Durham located in Durham, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team to provide direct and indirect care to patients.

Requirements

  • Successfully pass a nationally recognized medical interpreter exam ( e,g., CCHI or NBCMI)
  • 2 yrs direct supervisory experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage Spanish medical interpreters, including oversight of time and attendance, scheduling, vacation coverage and conducting performance appraisals.
  • Verify interpreter competency through completion of CBOs, competency sign offs, observations, and at minimum quarterly feedback. Provide training in correct methods and procedures to maintain high standards.
  • Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, promotions, and transfers of interpreters.
  • Conduct individual and group meetings with interpreters to support education, professional development and the coordination of new ideas and policy reviews.
  • Monitor and assess program effectiveness, investigate trends, and recommend and/or implement improvements
  • Serve on committees, attend professional meetings, and maintain relationships with other Duke programs and external organizations to support program objectives.
