About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Research (Program Director, TN-HHN project), the Program Coordinator provides essential operational and coordination support for projects across Tennessee designed to improve cardiovascular disease (CVD) care outcomes. This position supports the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Cardiovascular Innovation Grant and works closely with the Practice Transformation Lead, Learning Collaborative Lead, Health Equity Liaison, and Program Manager to ensure smooth implementation of project activities. This position also supports engagement of patients and community stakeholders in Tennessee Heart Health Network (TN-HHN) Learning Collaboratives (LCs). Additional responsibilities include tracking deliverables, preparing progress reports, supporting event logistics, and facilitating collaboration between community and clinical partners to achieve project objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or relevant field. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
  • One (1) year of relevant experience to include research management, supervision, data collection or analysis, patient recruitment, and/or retention activities; OR a combination of education and experience to equal five (5) years.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with clinical and public health research terminology and conduct.
  • Skill with research data collection and analysis.
  • Understanding and knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data collection techniques.
  • Skilled in recruitment and retention activities.
  • Knowledge of the ethical conduct of research.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite programs, particularly Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of IRB procedures and processes.
  • Highly developed organizational skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day coordination support for TN-HHN quality improvement and practice transformation activities across participating sites.
  • Works closely with the Practice Transformation Lead to coordinate communications, scheduling, materials, and documentation related to clinic engagement and workflow improvement efforts.
  • Supports engagement of primary care practices, health systems, community partners, and patient advisors participating in TN-HHN initiatives.
  • Assists the Program Manager with tracking project deliverables, milestones, and timelines to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Assists with maintaining documentation related to protocols, workflows, surveys, and implementation tools.
  • Supports coordination and implementation of evaluation and learning activities related to TN-HHN and affiliated initiatives.
  • Works closely with the Community Engagement & Health Equity Liaison to support engagement of community-based organizations, patient groups, and other stakeholders.
  • Supports collection, organization, and tracking of project-related data for reporting and quality improvement purposes.
  • Assists in grant writing and grant management activities by preparing, organizing, and maintaining required documentation for reporting.
  • Supports development and maintenance of standard operating procedures and implementation guides for TN-HHN projects.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
