About The Position

Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) is seeking a Program Coordinator I-II to coordinate all aspects of the Bringing Baffin Back TM initiative. This role will focus on leading the implementation of watershed restoration and management activities outlined in a Watershed Protection Plan (WPP). The coordinator will manage a team comprising members from various entities (internal and external to TAMU-CC) who collaborate with communities and stakeholders in the Baffin Bay watershed to address water quality issues and infrastructure needs. Key responsibilities include regular engagement with communities and stakeholders, and leading program development activities such as grant acquisition, management, and implementation.

Requirements

  • Program Coordinator I: Bachelor's of science in environmental science or related field.
  • Program Coordinator I: Two (2) years of related experience.
  • Program Coordinator II: Bachelor's of science in environmental science or related field.
  • Program Coordinator II: Four (4) years of related experience.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with common social media platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities / projects and work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong public speaking skills.
  • Knowledge of environmental water quality and best-management practices.
  • Willingness to travel locally and work occasional evenings / weekends.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional education may be considered as substitution for the minimum requirement for Program Coordinator I: Master’s degree in environmental science or related field.
  • Additional education may be considered as substitution for the minimum requirement for Program Coordinator II: Master’s degree in environmental science or related field and two (2) years of related experience.
  • Experience in program or project management (environmental or related field).
  • Grant writing and grant-funded project experience.
  • Ability to creatively distill and communicate technical water quality and coastal resilience information to laypeople (graphically, verbally, or written).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate regular team meetings.
  • Coordinate and track implementation of watershed restoration activities undertaken by team members.
  • Assist with programmatic goal setting.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with landowners, agencies, nonprofits, and local governments.
  • Contribute to grant writing and program development.
  • Lead planning and development of new programmatic initiatives and develop grant applications to acquire funding for them.
  • Coordinate timelines, deliverables, and reporting for grant-funded restoration projects.
  • Operate a university vehicle to access field sites, meet with partners, and support program delivery across multiple locations.
  • Develop and coordinate stakeholder meetings and support collaborative, solution-oriented discussions.
  • Deliver outreach programs, workshops, and educational materials to support implementation.
