About The Position

The Program Coordinator supports the Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs within the Surgery Service Line, including the General Surgery Residency Program and multiple surgical fellowship programs. This role assists with accreditation compliance, program operations, educational activities, recruitment events, data tracking, and coordination between interdisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, people-focused, and interested in growing a career in healthcare administration and medical education. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Education, Public Administration, Social Work, or a related field required; or equivalent combination of education and experience (4 years of related experience in lieu of degree).
  • Two years of Previous healthcare, medical education, academic medicine, or administrative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the administration and coordination of the General Surgery Residency Program and surgical fellowship programs.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance and accreditation requirements for governing organizations including the ACGME, American Board of Surgery, and other regulatory/accreditation bodies.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities, interviews, onboarding, graduation events, educational sessions, committee meetings, and program celebrations.
  • Track, maintain, and present program-related data, reports, and educational records.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative guidelines.
  • Serve as a liaison between program leadership, staff, residents, fellows, faculty, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Assist with scheduling, communication, documentation, and general administrative support for the Surgery Service Line and GME programs.
  • Provide guidance, support, and education to program team members as needed.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and other systems for data management, reporting, and scheduling.
  • Participate in occasional Saturday events throughout the year with flexible scheduling accommodations.
  • Role includes regular interaction with physicians, residents, fellows, faculty, and staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
