About The Position

Coordinates the activities and functions of designated programs. Analyzes, evaluates and ensures that the goals and objectives for the program are accomplished according to established priorities, time and funding limitations or other specifications. This position coordinates the child find process for unenrolled students and the day-to-day operations of the Exceptional Education preschool programs located at elementary and K-8 schools across the district. Coordinates the activities and functions of designated program components. Provides coordinating services placement and enrollment, professional development, collaboration with Early Childhood Education partnerships, program assessment, budgets, evaluations, special education compliance measures, and the overall success of the preschool programs.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree AND Four years of experience administering or coordinating programs.
  • OR Bachelor’s Degree AND Two years of experience administering or coordinating programs.
  • OR Six years of progressive experience administering or coordinating programs.
  • One year of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge and ability to use word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs.
  • Knowledge of federal and state legislative requirements related to specific program.
  • Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
  • Some positions within this classification may require some type of certification.
  • FBI fingerprint background check
  • Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or higher in Early Childhood, Child Development, or closely related field.
  • Experience managing a program and its staff.
