About The Position

The Collegiate Veterans Success Center (CVSC) is seeking a Program Coordinator to manage outreach, engagement, and support services for military-connected students. This role involves coordinating programs, advising student organizations, facilitating experiential learning, and building campus and community partnerships. The coordinator will also be responsible for data collection, reporting, and supporting daily operations of the CVSC. The position reports to the Associate Director of the Collegiate Veterans Success Center and may supervise student assistants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience consistent with University requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in higher education/student affairs, counseling, social work, public administration, communications, education, leadership, or a related field with experience working in a higher education setting, particularly in Student Affairs.
  • Knowledge of military culture, transition from military service to higher education and career, and campus and community resources for veterans and military-connected students.
  • Veteran or military-connected lived experience is valued but not required.
  • Experience advising student organizations, mentoring student leaders, coordinating peer programs, or supervising student employees or volunteers.
  • Experience with events and event management, and compliance-based systems or protocols.
  • Experience with outreach strategy, digital communications, program marketing, presentations, event planning, and partnership development.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate outreach and engagement strategy to increase awareness of CVSC resources, programs, and opportunities for military-connected students.
  • Supervise peer mentoring, student advisory, ambassador, volunteer, and/or student employment initiatives.
  • Conduct targeted outreach at key transition points for students.
  • Serve as a point of contact for military-connected students and families seeking information and support.
  • Develop and disseminate communications across digital platforms, presentations, and events.
  • Plan, implement, and assess programs, workshops, and events to foster community, resilience, leadership, and engagement.
  • Expand outreach through relationships with military installations, veteran-serving organizations, alumni, employers, families, and community partners.
  • Create opportunities for participation, leadership, volunteering, and mentoring through CVSC initiatives.
  • Refer education-benefit questions to the designated School Certifying Official.
  • Design and coordinate the development, logistics, delivery, and evaluation of CVSC programs, workshops, mentoring initiatives, and events.
  • Incorporate experiential learning through defined learning outcomes, responsibilities, reflection, and feedback.
  • Develop and facilitate educational programs to strengthen campus understanding of military-connected student experiences.
  • Collaborate with campus and community partners to connect students with career exploration, professional networks, internships, and employment opportunities.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with campus and community partners supporting various student services.
  • Represent the Student Engagement and CVSC at partner meetings, resource fairs, and events.
  • Maintain accurate and accessible resource guides, referral protocols, websites, and contact lists.
  • Coordinate collaborations with Veterans Affairs, state and federal contacts, and veteran-serving organizations.
  • Develop resources and activities to help students translate military service and campus involvement into transferable competencies.
  • Manage program calendars, reservations, vendors, purchasing documentation, marketing, staffing, accessibility, and risk-management requirements.
  • Research best practices and recommend approaches to strengthen military-connected student engagement.
  • Support evening, weekend, and campus-wide events as assigned.
  • Advise registered student organizations, student leaders, and advisors on operations, leadership, engagement, and University policies.
  • Assist in the management of the student organization program and database (GatorConnect).
  • Maintain accurate records of student contacts, outreach, referrals, and follow-up.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for departmental priorities and events.
  • Interpret and communicate University policies and procedures related to students and student organizations.
  • Collect, organize, and report participation, outreach, referral, and feedback data.
  • Assist with reporting, dashboards, annual reports, needs assessments, and budget tracking.
  • Support daily CVSC operations, including desk coverage, event support, and space readiness.
  • Use assessment findings to recommend and implement improvements to programs and services.
  • Support grants, partnerships, sponsorships, and gift-funded initiatives.
  • Contribute to the Division and University through active participation on committees and initiatives.
  • Provide day-to-day direction, training, scheduling, and coaching to assigned student assistants, interns, ambassadors, peer mentors, and volunteers.
