About The Position

The Office of Juvenile Justice is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Program Consultant – Social Services to support youth, families, and program staff across secure-care and community-based services. This role is ideal for a professional who communicates clearly, collaborates well with others, and values structured, youth-centered support. As a Program Consultant, you’ll help strengthen service delivery, support family engagement, assist staff with program needs, and contribute to consistent, high-quality practices across social-services operations. You’ll work closely with program teams, gather information, assist with problem-solving, and help ensure services align with agency expectations and youth-development goals. Requirements

  • Six years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; OR A bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; OR An advanced degree in a social science field, public health, counseling, social work, rehabilitation services, business, public, or health administration, or Juris Doctorate plus two years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
  • Must not have been convicted or pled nolo contendere to a crime listed in R.S. 15:587.1 (c)
  • Must possess a valid Louisiana Driver's License
  • Must clear a background check

Responsibilities

  • Supports youth and family engagement — assists with communication, service coordination, and problem-solving between youth, families, and program staff.
  • Monitors program quality — reviews service delivery, documentation, and compliance with agency standards to ensure consistent, youth-centered practices.
  • Provides consultation to staff — offers guidance to program teams on policies, procedures, and best-practice approaches in social services.
  • Supports data and reporting needs — collects information, prepares reports, and assists with tracking program outcomes and service trends.
  • Coordinates service activities — helps organize meetings, youth/family sessions, and collaborative activities with internal and external partners.
  • Assists with problem resolution — helps address concerns raised by youth, families, or staff and supports timely follow-up.
  • Performs additional duties — completes tasks assigned by leadership to support social-services operations.
