About The Position
The Boeing Space & Mission Systems (SMS), Chief Engineering Department is seeking a Program Chief Engineer (Principle or Senior) (Level 5 or 6) to join our team in El Segundo, California. This role plays a critical leadership role on a commercial satellite program assuring quality engineering in design, build, delivery, issue and risk management of space systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 10+ years of experience working with space-based systems engineering (requirements definition, allocation, functional analysis, architecture design, trade studies, integration, and verification)
- Must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
- Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

- Experience as a SEIT lead or Satellite Chief Engineer
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Strong Communication, Adaptability, Decision Making, Customer Focus, Integrated Systems, Engineering Analysis, and Requirements/Tracing skillset
Responsibilities
- Work across capabilities to ensure the skills needed to perform the design and build of complex space system programs
- Experience in program startup and baselining
- Experience in risk and issue management processes and execution
- Experience with customer interactions and program campaign engagement
- Experience in engineering trade processes and baseline control
- Experience working with program management and finance to ensure execution to program planning
- Experience working anomalies with root cause corrective action (RCCA) processes
- Experience with major suppliers on a program and management of their specifications and engineering deliveries
