Program Chief Engineer (Technical Lead)

SEAKR Engineering•Centennial, CO

About The Position

SEAKR Engineering is seeking an Electrical Engineer to serve as Program Chief Engineer (Technical Lead), developing and refining architectures and requirements for advanced space electronics and serving as a technical interface with customers. The role leads a design team from initial specification through hardware delivery across box, module, board, FPGA, and software-level designs. It champions simulation, analysis, integration, and test, and includes detailed design reviews and approval of engineering work and drawings. The position provides hands-on leadership in digital board design, including documentation, schematic capture and review, signal- and power-integrity analysis, routing instructions, board-layout coordination and review, test planning, hardware verification, and laboratory debug. The engineer oversees multiple module designs in box systems, coordinates work across hardware, logic, mechanical, software, manufacturing, test, and systems disciplines, and supports the full program lifecycle through acceptance testing and delivery. This includes environmental testing such as thermal cycle, thermal vacuum, vibration, and EMI/EMC, as well as leading technical matters at major program reviews. Limited local travel may be required. U.S. citizenship is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • At least 8 years of design experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of circuit design and signal integrity.
  • Experience leading module debug and integration of a module into a system.
  • Familiarity with environmental test methods and flow.
  • Understanding of and experience performing worst-case analysis.
  • Ability to effectively lead system integration and test of multiple digital boards, FPGA designs, and system software.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with digital and/or RF electronics design, schematic capture, FPGA design, embedded system design, single-board computers, or embedded software design.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new architectures, refine existing architectures, and develop requirements.
  • Serve as a technical interface with customers.
  • Lead a design team from initial specification through hardware delivery, covering box, module, board, FPGA, and software-level designs.
  • Champion program simulation, analysis, integration, and test.
  • Review other engineers’ designs and approve engineering work and drawings.
  • Lead hardware checkout and validation in a laboratory environment, and support full-system box integration and environmental testing.
  • Perform digital board design, including design documentation, schematic capture and review, SI and PI analysis, routing instructions, board-layout coordination and review, test-plan documentation, hardware verification, and debug.
  • Perform hands-on laboratory debugging using tools such as bench supplies, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Oversee multiple module designs in a box system and provide technical oversight to other design-team members.
  • Coordinate work across hardware, logic, mechanical, software, manufacturing, test, and systems disciplines to ensure designs meet customer requirements.
  • Support the full program lifecycle from ATP to delivery, including oversight of thermal-cycle, thermal-vacuum, vibration, and EMI/EMC testing.
  • Lead the program team on technical matters through reviews such as SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, and PSR.
  • Contribute to detailed reviews of FPGA, software, and mechanical designs.
  • Provide leadership and support to less experienced engineers on the program team.
