About The Position

Franklin University is seeking a Program Chair for its Financial Planning & Financial Management programs within the Ross College of Business. This full-time, 12-month position involves providing strategic direction through academic leadership, curriculum oversight, faculty supervision, teaching, assessment, scholarship, and industry engagement. The role requires leadership in curriculum quality, program assessment, accreditation alignment, faculty development, and continuous improvement. The Program Chair will serve as a subject matter expert, lead curriculum development, approve course design, oversee scheduling and staffing, and ensure alignment with accreditation standards and CFP® Board requirements. Responsibilities include recruiting, mentoring, and evaluating faculty, fostering a collaborative teaching environment, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, partnering with university departments for student success, leading program assessment, developing a Program Advisory Board, collaborating with Marketing, participating in committees, engaging in scholarship, and representing the University. Candidates may work remotely but must be available onsite as needed for various university events and initiatives.

Requirements

Earned doctorate in Finance, Financial Planning, or a closely related discipline from an institutionally (formerly regionally) accredited college or university.
Minimum of 18 graduate semester credit hours in the discipline.
At least five years of university-level teaching experience.
At least five years of progressively responsible leadership or management experience.
Demonstrated success in curriculum development, faculty leadership, assessment, and student engagement.
Exceptional communication, collaboration, organizational, and leadership skills.
Commitment to student success and academic excellence.
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic higher education environment.

Nice To Haves

Professional credentials such as Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) and/or Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®).
Significant professional experience in the financial services industry.

Responsibilities

Providing strategic direction for the Financial Planning and Financial Management programs.
Academic leadership, curriculum oversight, faculty supervision, teaching, assessment, scholarship, and engagement with industry and professional organizations.
Oversight of curriculum quality, program assessment, accreditation and certification alignment, faculty development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Serving as the subject matter expert for the programs.
Leading curriculum development and revision efforts.
Approving course design and development.
Overseeing course scheduling and staffing.
Ensuring program alignment with applicable accreditation standards and CFP® Board educational requirements.
Recruiting, mentoring, assigning, observing, and evaluating lead faculty and adjunct faculty.
Fostering a collaborative and student-centered teaching environment.
Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses within the discipline.
Partnering with Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, Transfer Credit, and other University departments to support student success.
Leading annual program assessment activities.
Developing and maintaining a Program Advisory Board.
Collaborating with Marketing to support program growth.
Participating in University committees and governance.
Engaging in scholarship and professional development.
Representing Franklin University through professional associations and community partnerships.
