We're looking for a Program Assurance Officer to join our Alberta Safety Codes Authority (ASCA) team and help strengthen how safety codes services are delivered across Alberta. In this role, you'll evaluate program and agency performance, identify trends and risks, and provide recommendations that improve service delivery and customer experience. Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in business, public administration, occupational health and safety, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Familiarity with project management principles.
  • At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in program delivery, client inquiry resolution, and process improvement
  • Experience analyzing and synthesizing data to support decision-making and reporting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools to support collaboration, document management, program coordination, and workflow efficiency
  • Strong digital literacy, including the use of generative AI tools
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic environment.
  • A strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • A valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and the ability to travel occasionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience reviewing or approving safety codes permits
  • Experience with compliance monitoring and enforcement practices
  • Knowledge of Alberta’s safety codes system, including legislation, regulations, and processes

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate program, agency, and service delivery performance to identify risks, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyze compliance results and performance data to maintain regulatory effectiveness and support informed decision-making.
  • Interpret legislation, regulations, and program requirements to promote consistent application across the safety codes system.
  • Provide guidance on permit-related matters, compliance requirements, and service delivery standards.
  • Develop reports, performance measures, and insights to support program monitoring and continuous improvement.
  • Build awareness of program requirements through stakeholder engagement, knowledge sharing, and collaboration.
  • Respond to inquiries, escalations, and emerging issues with a customer-focused approach.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities to improve processes, enhance customer experience, and strengthen program effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support consistent, accountable, and high-quality service delivery.
