About The Position

Active Day has several opportunities for Program Assistant / PCA / Activities Assistant. No Experience - No Problem! As long as you have PASSION, DEDICATION AND A DRIVE to serve others- We will train you! Full-Time, Part-Time and Per-Diem Available. As a Program Assistant/Activities Assistant, you will provide loving care and assistance to our members by helping them with activities, personal and medical care, meals, and on and off-site social activities. Our Program Assistants are always smiling and creating a warm and welcoming environment, all while ensuring our members are safe, happy, and well. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred or a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience.
  • At least one-year full-time equivalent experience in a health care setting preferred.
  • Prior experience working seniors and/or adults with special needs preferred but not required
  • Engaging interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Able to bend, pull, push, squat, turn, transfer, and lift 50 pounds; able to stand for an extended period while providing physical assistance to members
  • Successful results of background check, and where applicable, additional state-specific regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist members with activities of daily living and personal care as needed (e.g. arrival and departure, eating, ambulation, transferring, therapies, rest room assistance, etc.).
  • Assist in the planning and facilitation of creative and diverse therapeutic recreational programs and encourage member participation.
  • Serve meals and snacks and clear tables; assist with feeding as needed.
  • Observe members for change in condition or unusual occurrences. Escalate concerns as appropriate.
  • Maintain program areas, supplies, and equipment ensuring all are clean, disinfected, stocked, replenished and in good working order.
  • Ensure the safety of members by monitoring activities, keeping a sanitary, clutter-free environment, and participating in safety training; actively contribute to creating and maintaining a clean, orderly, bright and welcoming center.
  • Communicate in a positive, courteous and professional manner with members and their families, co-workers, referral agencies, and the community at large.
  • Participate in staff meetings and in-service educational programs as requested; actively collaborate with cross-functional team, providing feedback and recommendations for enhancing the member experience and achieving the center’s overall goals and objectives.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, safety and regulatory laws and standards.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as changed or assigned at any time.
