About The Position

Each member of the Adventure Science Center team is expected to deliver consistent, high-quality service with enthusiasm, professionalism, and respect for all ASC guests. The Summer Camp Internship provides hands-on, dynamic opportunities to support and implement innovative, active programming for summer camp participants while developing skills in teamwork, communication, and STEM-based education. The Program Assistant supports the daily operations of the camp and youth programs department. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in program coordination, administration, and youth services while learning how programs serve children and families.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be entering their senior year of high school or have already recently graduated
  • Interest in program coordination, administration, or youth services
  • Ability to work in a professional office and program setting
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable
  • Ability to follow instructions, policies, and procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Support the Camp Director and program team with daily administrative and operational tasks
  • Assist with program logistics, including schedules, attendance, supplies, and materials
  • Help prepare program spaces, activity materials, and resources for daily use
  • Assist with camper records, rosters, and basic data entry
  • Support communication with families by helping draft emails, updates, or program materials
  • Serve as a friendly point of contact for staff, campers, and families as needed
  • Assist during program transitions, special events, or activities
  • Occasionally support classroom needs by assisting counselors, gaining hands-on experience in program operations.
  • Observe and learn how programs are planned, implemented, and evaluated
  • Support staff onboarding or training logistics when appropriate
  • Complete daily reflections and participate in mentorship check-ins with Camp Director
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a positive attitude at all times
