About The Position

RMU Bands is looking for a temporary part-time program assistant to help organize and execute performances at a variety of athletic events throughout the fall semester. This position will be filled until a new Full-time Band Director is hired.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Experience in relevant work experience with college-aged students.
• Knowledge of instrumental music and band presentation.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Ability to assist with producing show-style marching band, pep bands, jazz and wind bands.
• Strong customer-service orientation.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Required to Pass a Motor Vehicle Report Check.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of the show band and auxiliary, along with pep and jazz bands and wind ensemble
• Supervise students at performances, rehearsals and trips.
• Help to coordinate performances for athletic, university and community functions.
• Represent the band program at recruitment and orientation events.
• Other duties as assigned.
