About The Position

The Program Assistant is an integral part of the museum and supports the efforts and projects of the Museum Director and Collections Manager. The Assistant performs a wide-variety of administrative duties related to operations, customer service, research and other programming that supports the museum’s mission. The Assistant should be a motivated, positive influence and make decisions for the benefit of the museum within the scope of the mission and the position as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or a minimum of three years proven experience providing administrative support in office environment.
  • Some knowledge of Osage history, culture, artifacts and art.
  • Proficiency in clerical and computer skills (Microsoft, Excel, databases, etc.) with a broad range of office-related skills and knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently without direct supervision.
  • High level of problem solving, organizational, time management, multi-tasking, professional writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Well organized, detail oriented, accurate, punctual, motivated, hard-working, flexible, proactive, and reliable.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, with a proven ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Ability to learn quickly and see projects through to completion in a timely fashion.
  • High level of personal integrity and high ethical standards, and be committed to best professional practices.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing.
  • Must have a clean driving record – may be required to drive GSA or tribal vehicles.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of museum practices and methods preferred but not required.
