DF AY26/27 Program Assistant for Justice & Advocacy
About The Position
The Office of University Ministry (UMin) aims to foster a welcoming environment, support the spiritual development of the campus community, and explore the intersection of justice and spiritual identity. This role will assist UMins in engaging the campus community with the concept of 'faith that does justice,' embodying Jesuit principles and identity in relation to justice and advocacy efforts. The Program Assistant will collaborate on various programs, both internal and external to Regis, educate peers on justice and advocacy, research legislation and public policy, and devise strategies for campus engagement on these topics.
Requirements
- Undergraduate students with junior or senior standing
- At least one year of prior experience with justice and advocacy work, including attendance at IFTJ, Colorado Advocacy Day or a related experience.
- Applicants do not need to be Catholic but must be open to learning about and respecting Catholic Social Teaching, Jesuit tradition and values related to a “faith that does justice” and stances of the Catholic Church.

Responsibilities
- Design at least one program per month to engage the campus community in Justice work/awareness
- Serve as the UMin student lead for Social Justice Week
- Assist with logistics and day of support for the Possibilities Fair (fall)
- Serve as the student lead for implementing programming from the Ignatian Solidarity Network (ISN), which may include but are not limited to: Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice recruiting and preparation (fall), Ignatian Advocacy Madness (spring)
- Collaborate with clubs and departments to plan and execute justice-related programming
- Support recruitment, preparation and attend Denver Advocacy Day (Spring)
- Identify ways to encourage student participation in justice and advocacy work
- Attend regular mentor meetings with UMin supervisor, support major UMin events and attend monthly UMin All-Staff meetings
- Maintain positive and proactive behaviors with customers, coworkers and staff
- Move efficiently and willingly between multiple tasks
- Be willing to ask questions as necessary
- Work effectively and responsibly without close supervision after receiving instructions
- Be punctual, dependable, and honest
- Answer questions, both directional and informational, in a friendly, patient manner
- Communicate clearly, efficiently, and respectfully both in-person and electronically
- Utilize MS Office Suite, including Office 365 and Google Suite occasionally
- Work collaboratively with other student ministers, staff and other departments

- 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
