About The Position

DayBreak Adult Day Services is seeking a Program Assistant (Caregiver) to join our growing team. They work directly with participants to enrich and care for their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. Rooted in Faith, community, and dignity, we strive to provide Christ-centered care and activities in a joyful, respectful environment.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to pass background and health screening.
Good physical health.
Able to work at a fast pace.
Able to lift and transfer participants.
Desire to work closely with older adults and individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
Capable of handling emergency situations.
Demonstrates sensitivity, empathy, and an interest in working with participants with physical and memory loss or impairment, and individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
Reliable, flexible, patient, caring, and have a sense of humor.
Able to work both independently and as a teammate, showing initiative and creativity.

Nice To Haves

Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) certification.
Experience working with seniors or adults with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Lead individual and group activities for participants, maximizing engagement for individuals with physical, emotional, social, or cognitive impairments.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of the building, including kitchen, dining area, bathrooms, and group activity areas (sweep, mop, dust, clean bathrooms and shower room, take out garbage).
Assist with meals and snacks, including baking, cooking, preparing, serving, and feeding participants, and cleaning the kitchen area.
Administer participant medications and treatments correctly and as trained.
Assist participants with toileting, transferring, grooming, showering, mobility, safety cues, and other activities of daily living.
