About The Position

Allegheny Science & Technology (AST) is seeking a Program Analyst to support the Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Electricity (OE) in advancing energy infrastructure, grid modernization, and related policy initiatives. The Program Analyst will provide stakeholder engagement, programmatic communications, and event support, with a primary focus on high-impact stakeholder engagement opportunities. This position will work closely with federal staff, program managers, communications teams, and other partners to ensure engagement activities are strategically planned, well-coordinated, and effectively executed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, 4-9 years of experience.
  • Experience supporting the Department of Energy or other federal customers in a similar capacity is preferred, such as: Experience working with federal energy programs, state energy offices, or electric utility stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting stakeholder engagement initiatives or intergovernmental coordination activities.
  • Ability to organize meetings and interact with external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and/or other virtual meeting platforms.
  • Experience organizing in-person conferences or workshops that convene federal government, local government officials, and industry representatives.
  • Strong analytical, research, and program coordination capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize meeting discussions and research findings clearly and concisely.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to successfully complete a DOE background investigation (e.g., Public Trust).
  • Must be located within commutable distance to Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities

  • Support planning, coordination, and execution of stakeholder outreach, including engagement activities, site visits, meetings, workshops, and related events.
  • Coordinate with federal staff, contractors, and other stakeholders to support objectives.
  • Support stakeholder outreach and engagement activities designed to strengthen relationships and increase awareness of federal programs, priorities, technologies, and accomplishments.
  • Assist with preparing stakeholder engagement strategies, communications/outreach plans, agendas, briefing materials, correspondence, and other event-related products.
  • Support time-sensitive requests from federal leadership related to stakeholder meetings, events, site visits, and communications initiatives.
  • Coordinate event requirements and track actions, deliverables, schedules, participants, and other logistical and programmatic needs.
