About The Position

The Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC), through strategic partnerships, prepares the federal law enforcement community to safeguard America's people, property, and institutions. We are a unique inter-agency organization preparing the next generation of law enforcement officers to meet our Nation's most pressing security challenges. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must successfully pass a background investigation.
  • Current and former federal employees within the General Schedule (GS) must meet the time-in-grade requirements.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license to conduct official government business.
  • Must set up direct deposit so we can pay you.
  • One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in Federal service, performing the following duties: Modifying and/or developing new work processes to increase workplace efficiencies; Applying program evaluation and measurement techniques to determine compliance applicable rules and regulations or program accomplishments; Developing program plans in accordance with available resources and priorities; and Coordinating with internal and external customers for marketing and outreach opportunities.
  • OR A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
  • OR A combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience as described above that, when combined, equal 100% of the total requirement.
  • Only graduate education in excess of the first two years may be used to qualify for the GS-11 level.
  • All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
  • Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.
  • Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
  • Career Transition Assistance Program/Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP/ICTAP) Eligibles: If you have never worked for the federal government, you are not CTAP/ICTAP eligible.
  • Must submit a copy of your college transcript (unofficial is acceptable) from an accredited institution listing the college/university, degree confirmation date(s) and applicable courses for the position you are applying to.
  • If you are using foreign education to meet qualification requirements, you must send a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as a major participant in monitoring the budget, interagency agreements, strategic marketing and outreach initiatives, national and regional law enforcement conferences, and procurement activities and processes.
  • Analyzing information for the purpose of advising on trends and issues evidenced by the data collections, and other subject matter research.
  • Serving as a liaison between various agencies, and other FLETC divisions for such matters as interagency agreements, billing, reimbursement, course cost development, guest lecturer contracts, and other administrative requirements.
  • Coordinating internet presence with multiple web sites to effectively market the organization's training programs.
