About The Position

This is a temporary position with the Office of State Human Resources, Temporary Solutions Division. The agency's mission is to provide a solid Human Resource management foundation, responsible oversight, and creative solutions through a collaborative approach with all stakeholders to maximize the potential of its employees. This role is located at 1405 N Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 in Nash County. Temporary employees may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) if they work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience that may lead to permanent employment with the state.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Bring advanced analytical and technical skills to Business Services to improve the way work gets done by supporting key projects.
  • Improve business processes and implement smart technology solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with staff across Business Services to find opportunities to simplify complex workflows, improve communication, and better organize information.
  • Use a structured, data-driven approach.
  • Focus on making it easier for employees to access the tools and resources they need, automating routine tasks, and finding practical ways to make our daily operations more efficient.
  • Act as a primary operational catalyst, driving the adoption of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (including Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, and Power Automate) to transition routine administrative tasks into automated, collaborative workflows.
  • Support leadership by analyzing operational data, tracking multi-agency project portfolios, and conducting rigorous research to inform strategic planning.
  • Serve as a key liaison for technology changes, ensuring software change requests and operational procedures run smoothly across business units.
