About The Position

The Salvation Army is seeking a Program Aide to assist with the care of children in our before & afterschool program, ensuring a safe environment for all children. This role involves supporting children's learning and development while they have fun.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Previous experience working with children helpful.
• Patient and understanding attitude working with children from various backgrounds.
• Child Protection Clearances: PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
• Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the care of each child who is part of our program.
• Assist with homework help and encourage engaging play for those without homework.
• Assist with snacks, clean up of the same, instructing children to clean up their own space.
• Share creative ideas with staff for excellence in program and beneficial to children.
• Clean up program area as assigned, including after each project and teaching children to do the same.
• Report concerns and/or medical incidents to supervisor on staff immediately.
• Help children to grow and learn while having fun.
• Support and affirm the Mission of The Salvation Army while on Salvation Army duty.
• Other job related duties as assigned.
