About The Position

Evolve Treatment Centers is seeking an enthusiastic Program Aide for its outpatient PHP/IOP location in San Diego, California. The team provides treatment to adolescents experiencing substance abuse and mental illness. This role offers exposure and experience working with teens with significant mental health and substance abuse issues, and may suit someone interested in or pursuing a degree in mental health or social services. The ideal candidate is dedicated, responsible, reliable, and excited to work with teens with co-occurring disorders, with flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of adolescent treatment.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Good personal and professional boundaries appropriate for a treatment setting.
• Ability to remain calm in crisis situations to support client safety.
• Ability to remain fully attentive at all times for client safety.

Nice To Haves

• BA degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
• Some prior experience working in a mental health setting.
• Previous crisis management experience.
• Previous experience working with teens.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision to clients in the milieu.
• Provide one-to-one support to clients and address areas where they need support with individual problems.
• Monitor client behavior, activities, safety, and peer-community dynamics with vigilance and awareness.
• Conduct and facilitate psychoeducation groups and recreational activities.
• Manage and intervene in crises when necessary.
• Complete client shift notes and group note documentation.
• Facilitate urinalysis testing for clients.
• Establish a constructive therapeutic community in accordance with Treatment Center policies.
