About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting with the supervision of children participating in activities provided within the RJKCCC, such as Education, Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education. The role requires knowledge of First Aid and CPR principles, the ability to monitor children's health and safety, and understanding of athletic sports rules. The Program Aide must also be able to build positive relationships, lead and motivate participants in recreational activities, and respond calmly to emergencies. Duties involve a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and work is performed in indoor and outdoor recreational environments which may involve weather changes, noise, dust, and dirt.

Requirements

Knowledge of the principles and practices of First Aid and C.P.R.
Ability to monitor children’s activities to ensure their health and safety.
Knowledge of the standard rules and techniques of athletic sports such as baseball, basketball, and football, etc.
Ability to build effective and positive relationships with people of all ages.
Ability to lead and motivate people participating in recreational activities.
Ability to respond to emergency situations in a calm and appropriate manner.
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Six months experience working with children in educational, fitness, arts, crafts and other activities in a similar environment
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Valid state driver's license
CPR and First Aid Certification
Infant/Child CPR Certification
