Requirements
- PA Child Abuse, Criminal, and FBI Clearances (required at hire and renewal).
- Completion of PA Mandated Reporter & Salvation Army KeepSAfe training.
- Valid PA Driver’s License.
- Flexible availability that aligns with the Oil City School District schedule (may include daytime, after-school, or hybrid hours).
- A caring, patient, and dependable individual who loves working with children.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Academic competency to help with K–6 homework (and willingness to learn/review Common Core Math).
- Comfortable with technology: Microsoft Office, internet use, and children’s educational software.
- A genuine interest in education, youth development, and making a positive impact.
Nice To Haves
- Tutoring experience preferred.
- Experience working with children’s programming.
- Working knowledge of public-school system and community resources.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and encourage children in homework, educational software, and enrichment activities.
- Help students build confidence, learn new skills, and reach their academic goals.
- Keep the classroom environment organized and welcoming for learning.
- Collaborate with staff through weekly planning meetings and program evaluations.
- Complete reports and updates to keep our programs running smoothly.
- Assist with mealtime prep.
- Help maintain program budgets and resources.
- Step in with flexibility to support other program needs as directed.
