This position involves playing an active role in observing and monitoring activities of Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) participants. The SYEP Program Aide will process payroll and handle multiple assignments. The Program Aide will be expected to prioritize assignments and be able to take initiative. The candidate must have a proven track record in customer service. Facilitate weekly educational workshops for 20-40 program participants (ages 14-24) with a provided curriculum. Maintain participant files, timesheets and evaluations. Attend all related meetings, trainings and supervisions as required. Assist with review of enrollment documents and correspondence to applicants. To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • College Student or High School Graduate 18 yrs. or older
  • 2 years’ experience working with children and/or youth in your specialization
  • Exemplary supervisory skills at elementary level (middle school or high school aged youth) and aptitude for motivating people
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently
  • Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task
  • Proven track record in customer service

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in one or more of the following: Spanish, Creole, Bengali and others based on client needs

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate structured daily workshops on career exploration, financial literacy, resume writing, and soft skills.
  • Lead teams of younger youth (14–15) through PBL curricula (45+ hours), culminating in final projects.
  • Mentor and monitor youth participants during in-person sessions, activities, or field trips.
  • Record daily attendance, track progress, and complete required documentation.
  • Process payroll.
  • Handle multiple assignments.
