About The Position

The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets is seeking a Program Aide to work in the Division of Fiscal Management. The selected candidate will work with the Purchasing Team to manage and process all purchasing documentation; oversee the procurement and asset management of all equipment, including decals and SharePoint-related asset tracking; maintain accurate records for all company assets. The Program Aide will support programs by confirming purchase requisitions ensuring accuracy and completeness before proceeding; act as a key point of contact for program teams regarding purchasing inquiries, including obtaining quotes and assessing the reasonableness of prices; create new supplier IDs with the Statewide Financial System (SFS) ensuring all necessary information is captured. This is a permanent, office-based Program Aide position, conveniently situated at our headquarters, at 10B Airline Drive in Albany, NY. Our location offers easy access near the Albany International Airport and Wolf Road, with ample free parking available for all employees. This is a full-time role, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Opportunities for telecommuting may be available in accordance with the agency’s Telecommuting Program Guidelines.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience performing clerical, keyboarding, or paraprofessional work in an office environment (Open-Competitive NY HELPS Qualifications)
  • One year of permanent, competitive service in an office assistant, clerical, keyboarding, or paraprofessional title allocated to Grade 6 or higher (Program Aide Examination Announcement Qualifications)
  • One year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service in an office assistant, clerical, keyboarding, or paraprofessional title allocated to Grade 6 or higher (Direct-line lower-level promotion title NY HELPS Qualifications)

Responsibilities
