About The Position

The Arc of Cumberland and Perry Counties in Carlisle, PA is seeking to hire a full-time entry-level Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide direct care for the individuals we serve with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role supports individuals with disabilities to lead self-directed, meaningful lives as part of a dedicated and motivated team. This is an entry-level opportunity in human services where you can make a difference. Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) earn a competitive wage of $17.12/hour plus an additional $1/hour shift differential. You would also be eligible for our generous benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance for full-time staff at NO COST for the employee-only coverage. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you support people with disabilities to live their best lives as independently as possible. You assist with activities of daily living such as household maintenance, transportation, administration of medications, grocery shopping, meal preparation, personal care, and more. While supporting people with disabilities, you build strong relationships while learning their individual differences in ability, personality, interests, learning, motivation, likes, and dislikes. This helps you to provide the best care. Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle during working hours
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Ability to keep track of multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexible and patient
  • Respectful, discreet with confidential information, and honest
  • Enjoy helping people
