Program Advisor/Direct Support Professional- Part Time - Apartment Program
About The Position
The Arc of Cumberland and Perry Counties in Mechanicsburg, PA is seeking to hire a part time entry-level Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide direct care for the individuals we serve with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role supports individuals with disabilities to lead self-directed, meaningful lives as part of a dedicated and motivated team. This is an entry-level opportunity in human services where you can make a difference. Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) earn a competitive wage of $17.12/hour plus an additional $1/hour shift differential. Our passionate team members also enjoy 60 hours of paid vacation during the first year of employment, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, and long-term disability. Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle during working hours
- Punctual and reliable
- Ability to keep track of multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Good interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities
- Support people with disabilities to live their best lives as independently as possible.
- Assist with activities of daily living such as household maintenance, transportation, administration of medications, grocery shopping, meal preparation, personal care, and more.
- Build strong relationships while learning individual differences in ability, personality, interests, learning, motivation, likes, and dislikes to provide the best care.
- Support people with disabilities to live amazing lives according to their own needs and desires.
