About The Position

The City of Chandler Cultural Development Department is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Program & Activation Specialist. This is a full-time, temporary position that serves at the discretion of the department director. The role focuses on supporting and activating downtown park spaces, enhancing their use, coordinating activities, and creating welcoming experiences to foster community connection and vibrancy. The ideal candidate will be passionate about customer service, teamwork, and collaboration, excelling in a fast-moving downtown environment with a creative, reliable, and enthusiastic approach to operations and initiatives.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Facilities Maintenance, Event Management, Project Management or a related field
• 2 years of experience in general and/or landscaping maintenance, programming and coordinating special events
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Pre-employment driving record check
• Fingerprinting with successful results
• Adherence to the City of Chandler’s policies concerning the use of drugs and alcohol

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of community activation strategies, public space management, and general programming
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal staff, businesses, stakeholders, and partner organizations
• Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to identify opportunities for improving public spaces
• Experience with data collection, reporting, and program evaluation
