About The Position

The Management and Organization (M&O) Department in the Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking to fill a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Full Professor in the areas of Organizational Behavior (OB), Organizational Theory (OT), or Strategy. This position is to fill the Smeal Chaired Professor of Management. The desired start date is Fall 2027. The department is looking for a candidate with a PhD, a strong record of high-quality scholarly research with significant impact, and demonstrated teaching competence. The preferred candidate will have publications in premier journals, a research program with high-impact, and the ability to mentor doctoral students and faculty. Faculty members are expected to maintain an active research program, teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses, supervise graduate students, and engage in professional service. Onsite teaching is an essential function of the job. For the Smeal Chaired Professor, there is an expectation of sustained research excellence, thought leadership, mentorship, high ethical standards, and a strategic vision for the department's research culture.
