Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (T/TE)
About The Position
The Department of Immunobiology at the University of Arizona invites applications for the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. We are seeking investigators whose research program aligns with the department's focus on understanding how the immune system and/or microbes influence health and disease across the lifespan. This includes research in microbial biology (viruses, bacteria, parasites, fungi), immunology (normal and aberrant immune function, microbial and cancer immune defense), and interdisciplinary programs. Preference will be given to applicants combining these areas with innovative techniques, cancer biology, or translational elements. The ideal candidate will be collegial and collaborative. The position involves participation in medical and/or graduate teaching and service at departmental, college, and university levels. Teaching loads for research-intensive faculty are not expected to exceed 30 contact hours per year. Senior and mid-career applicants should demonstrate leadership, innovative programs, and robust extramural funding. Junior applicants are expected to establish cutting-edge programs and secure funding with mentoring support.
Requirements
- PhD and/or MD or equivalent degree.
- Peer-reviewed publications in nationally recognized journals.
- Expertise in any field related to immunology, microbiology, parasitology, infectious diseases, and cancer biology.
- For Associate level or above, active funding in the above areas.

Responsibilities
- Establish or continue a successful, extramurally funded research program that will advance knowledge in the broad areas of immunobiology.
- Develop and sustain productive interactions with biomedical investigators in the department, the College of Medicine-Tucson, and the University of Arizona.
- Promote and strengthen interdisciplinary training by contributing to graduate (M.Sc./Ph.D.) and/or medical (M.D.) education.
- Provide institutional service in the Department of Immunobiology.
- Additional duties may be assigned.
