About The Position

The Department of Theatre at Lipscomb University seeks a dynamic faculty member to teach multiple levels of acting and directing, screen acting, and other courses based on the candidate's area of expertise, including movement, improvisation, playwriting, voice & diction, theatre history, and/or stage combat. The candidate should also have a dedication to directing in the Department of Theatre’s production season. Position to assume responsibilities August 2, 2027. Beyond classroom and directing duties, the candidate will also serve the Dept. of Theatre in recruitment, and should expect to collaborate with adjunct faculty on the presentation and preparation of scenes, degree check-ins, BFA reviews, juries, and program auditions. The Department of Theatre at Lipscomb University is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre, and is housed within the College of Entertainment and the Arts, a division that also comprises the departments of Visual Art, Film, Animation, Fashion, and the School of Music. The department has a long history of preparing professional theatre practitioners, performers, directors, designers, scholars, and educators. We foster a comprehensive theatre curriculum served by a group of dedicated and passionate artist-teachers. With 80 majors, the Department of Theatre offers BFA degrees in Acting, Musical Theatre, and Design Production, a BA in Theatre Education, and robust minors in Dance, Theatre, and Theatre Education. Requirements

• Masters degree required
• Experience teaching on the collegiate level
• Active performance and/or directing experience on the regional and national level
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

• Terminal degree preferred (MFA, PhD, DA)
