About The Position

The Anatomy and Physiology position is responsible for teaching four sections of Anatomy and Physiology, either lecture or laboratory as needed, of BIO 175/BIO 176 A&P for Nursing, and/or BIO 260/BIO 261 A&P for Allied Health. In addition, this position would be expected to work with other full-time course faculty to prepare laboratory sections, as well as work towards continually improving course pedagogy. BIO 175/176 serves ~120 nursing students a year, while BIO 260/261 serves ~200 students in a variety of majors including Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, and Health Science.

Requirements

  • A Masters degree in disciplines focused on human anatomy and/or physiology.
  • Significant teaching experience at the college level in human anatomy and physiology.

Nice To Haves

  • A Doctorate or other terminal degree in disciplines focused on human anatomy and/or physiology.
  • Significant experience designing and teaching anatomy and physiology specifically for nursing programs as well as other allied health areas.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and teaching a combination of four lecture and laboratory sections a semester in BIO 175/176 A&P for Nursing and BIO 260/261 A&P for Allied Health, as needed.
  • Design and oversight of the lecture and laboratory content, in coordination with the other full-time A&P instructors.
  • Preparing the materials for laboratory sections throughout the week (3-5 additional hours outside of the classroom).
  • Oversight and training of any necessary additional instructors that may be needed in these courses.
