The Department of Pathology at the University of Pittsburgh, in conjunction with the Division of Anatomic Pathology of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center – Presbyterian Hospital, is seeking an Assistant Professor (up to 5 years of experience), Associate Professor (at least >5 years of experience), or Professor (+10 years of experience). The ideal candidate will be board certified in Anatomic Pathology with a specialty training and academic interest in Gastrointestinal Pathology, excluding hepatic pathology. The Gastrointestinal Pathology Center of Excellence, comprising eight Gastrointestinal Pathologists, is recognized for its expertise in neoplastic and non-neoplastic gastrointestinal and pancreatobiliary diseases. UPMC – Presbyterian, the primary teaching hospital for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, handles 41,000 surgical accessions annually, with a substantial GI caseload of approximately 20,000 cases. It also functions as a regional consultation reference laboratory for Western Pennsylvania. Beyond teaching and sign-out duties, the position offers significant opportunities for translational research, leveraging the advanced resources available in our molecular genomic pathology, digital pathology, and other laboratories.
