About The Position

The University of Arkansas School of Law is seeking applicants for a 9-month, 100% appointed, tenure/tenure track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (based on qualifications) starting in the 2027-2028 academic year to teach Legal Research and Writing. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering instruction in legal analysis, objective and persuasive writing, legal research methodologies, and oral advocacy. This role involves providing individualized feedback to students, evaluating written assignments, and collaborating with other legal writing faculty to ensure consistency and excellence across courses. Each legal writing faculty member will work with two sections of 15-18 students during the fall and spring semesters. Requirements

• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school or international law degree
• A distinguished academic record
• Demonstrated scholarly promise
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring students.
• Commitment to service within and outside the University.
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Tenure-track teaching experience or experience as a visiting law professor or fellow
• A law license and two years of legal experience

Responsibilities
