This role is ideal for someone with a background in biomedical engineering, design, or applied sciences who thrives in a maker space environment and enjoys translating complex biological and clinical concepts into tangible, teachable experiences. This position emphasizes design thinking, prototyping, and experiential learning using models and simulation to help students understand how things work, why they fail, and how to fix them. This faculty member will lead the development of: ● Physical simulation models that replicate clinical conditions, procedures, and physiological principles ● Maker space-driven learning experiences where students build, test, and refine solutions ● Design-based approaches to clinical reasoning, helping students break down and solve complex cases ● Hands-on teaching tools that make veterinary medicine visible, interactive, and intuitive ● The goal is to graduate veterinarians who are not only knowledgeable, but who can think critically, troubleshoot effectively, and adapt in real clinical environments. Why Lyon College School of Veterinary Medicine This is a unique opportunity to help create a veterinary program that is hands-on, engaging, and built for how students learn best. At LCSVM, you will: ● Build a maker-driven learning environment from the ground up ● Help students rediscover the joy of learning through doing ● Work in a culture that values creativity, perseverance, and practical problem solving ● Shape graduates who approach veterinary medicine with confidence, curiosity, and capability ● Lifelong learning starts here and you will help bring it to life.
