About The Position

The Department of Accounting at The Pennsylvania State University (University Park, PA) is seeking to fill one or more tenured faculty positions in accounting. These positions are open at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor, with an anticipated start date in Fall 2027. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the mission of the Smeal College of Business and the Department of Accounting through their work in research, teaching, and service. The department is looking for individuals who can demonstrate expertise in accounting analytics, auditing, financial accounting, managerial accounting, or taxation.

Requirements

Hold a Ph.D. in Accounting or a related field by the start of their appointment.
Possess a publication record commensurate with their rank.
For Associate Professor: possess the same qualifications as the Assistant Professor, but must also provide evidence of an established reputation in scholarly or professional achievement.
For Full Professor: possess the same qualifications as the Associate Professor, but must also provide evidence of a substantial record of advanced research and of leadership in their field of specialization.
Those in the final stages of completing a PhD program will be considered for appointment as an Assistant Professor.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the mission of the Smeal College of Business and the Department of Accounting in the areas of research, teaching, and service.
Pursue an active research program.
Demonstrate teaching competence in accounting analytics, auditing, financial accounting, managerial accounting, or taxation.
Onsite teaching is an essential function of the job.
