About The Position

Niagara College is seeking a Part-Time Professor to teach courses within the Defence Systems Engineering Technician/Technology programs at the School of Technology. This program is set to launch in September 2026. The role requires the successful candidate to provide academic leadership and foster a positive, accessible learning environment for a diverse student body. Classes are typically scheduled between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, with the possibility of evening classes up to 10:30 pm. This position requires in-person presence at the Welland Campus.

Requirements

• Advanced Diploma/Degree in mechanical, mechatronics, electronics, electrical fields or similar field of study.
• Experience with the integration, manufacturing, and repair of uncrewed robotic platforms (aerial, terrestrial, marine) and/or payload systems.
• 3-5 years of recent industry experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of excellent teaching and learning practices.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations.
• Evidence of integrating technology effectively into teaching practices.
• Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Operational experience with remotely piloted aircraft and/or remotely operated marine vehicles.
• Pilot Certificate: Small Remotely Piloted Aircraft (VLOS); Basic Operations, Advanced Operations, Level 1 Complex Operations.
• Competency in curriculum delivery and evaluation.
• Experience teaching at a post-secondary level.
