Monash University is seeking an exceptional academic leader to serve as Professor and Director of the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute (Monash BDI) and Head of the School of Biomedical Sciences. Based at our Clayton campus, this is a rare opportunity to lead one of Australia’s largest and most dynamic biomedical research and teaching environments, shaping the future of discovery science and education at a globally recognised institution. The Monash BDI brings together more than 120 research groups across interdisciplinary programs spanning Infection and Immunity, Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease, Development and Stem Cells, Metabolism, Neuroscience and related areas. The School of Biomedical Sciences delivers discipline‑based education across biomedical science and contributes extensively to teaching across Monash’s health professional programs, supported by world‑class research and teaching infrastructure. As Professor and Director, you will provide visionary academic and strategic leadership to advance the BDI’s national and international reputation as a world‑class centre for discovery research and education. You will lead the development of a shared vision for the Institute and School, drive strategic and operational planning, and foster a culture of excellence, collaboration and innovation across research, teaching and engagement.
